What do they have in common? They will both be at Life, the Universe, and Everything XXVI, the science fiction and fantasy symposium held February 14-16 at Brigham Young University! For more information and a schedule, see the symposium Web site.

I'm going to be there, so I'm curious about whether any other AML people will be there, too.
Who else is going?

A couple of panels and papers that may be of interest to AML folks:
Friday, 11 am: Main Address by Orson Scott Card
Friday, 1 pm: Biblical Motifs in Fantasy (Roger Bacon, Orson Scott Card, Scott Parkin, Steve Walker) (my husband is moderating this and may expand it to Book of Mormon motifs as well)
Saturday, 9 am: Epistemology, Ontology, and Battlestar Galactica: Why Your Mormon Neighbor Knows More about This Show Than You Do (Ivan Wolfe)
Saturday, 10 am: LDS Beliefs and SF&F (Jessica Day George, Brandon Sanderson, Jeff Savage, Laura Swift, Eric James Stone, Karen Webb)
Saturday, 4 pm: Of Saints and Starships: The History of Mormons and Science Fiction (Liz Busby)

Orson Scott Card gave an interesting main address on why he thinks there are so many LDS writers who are selling science fiction and fantasy in today's market.
I think it would be way cool if he would let Irreantum publish it.

Absolutely. I'd love to read a transcript or download a recording of it. A Motley Vision: Mormon Arts and Culture
