In response to some conversations in the Bloggernacle as well as my continued tracking of what the LDS publishers are doing (or not doing) to support LDS book groups, I have decided to put together a list of Mormon middlebrow fiction recommendations for LDS book groups (using the magic of Google forms+spreadsheets).

I would love participation from all of you.

For details, and a link to the form, see: http://www.motleyvision.org/?p=434

Here is the list of titles that have been submitted at the time of this post. If you see any glaring omissions, please do fill out the form. I'll probably close it in the middle of next week (but will announce an exact date here and on the AML list before doing so):

Brother Brigham
Long After Dark
Kindred Spirits
Hooligan: A Mormon Boyhood
Passage to Zarahemla, Tennis Shoes Among the Nephites, Tower of Thunder, Eddie Fantastic
Ender's Game
On the Road to Heaven
Go In Beauty
Paradise Vue
Slumming
The Conversion of Jeff Williams
Heresies of Nature
Bound on Earth
The Pictograph Murders
Fine Old High Priests
Bound on Earth
Benediction
My Mom's a Mortician
Funeral Home Evenings
Early-Morning Cemetery
The Final Farewell
Circle Dance
Bound On Earth
Cold Train Coming

As you can see, not everybody who filled out the form followed my suggestions, instructions, hints about the target audience. But that's okay. I'll be publishing an edited list on A Motley Vision with a link to the spreadsheet containing the raw data. That way nobody's effort is completely ignored, but the list itself is what it says it's supposed to be.

I notice that some of those books aren't published by LDS publishers (for example: ENDER'S GAME). I could recommend some by LDS authors that also aren't published by LDS publishers, but only if you are willing to include them.

Also, I notice that BOUND ON EARTH is listed three times. Way to go, Angela!
