Hymn Survey 1. What do you feel are appropriate sources for hymn music, and why? Consider some of these: popular music, folk music, secular classical music, world music, music by Mormon composers, Protestant hymns, evangelical worship music, Catholic (liturgical) music, non-Christian sacred music. Are any of these inappropriate sources for hymns, and why? Which do you feel is best-suited to hymns, and why?
2. What do you feel are appropriate sources for hymn texts, and why? Consider some of these: direct quotation from scripture, Mormon lay authors, poetry written by prophets or apostles of the Church, Protestant authors, evangelical authors, Catholic authors, Catholic liturgy, sacred poetry or scripture of non-Christian faiths.
