Irreantum’s editors are pleased to announce that Karen Moloney has joined Irreantum’s editorial board as our new critical essay editor. Here is Karen’s bio:
Karen Marguerite Moloney, originally from Whittier, California, is a professor of English at Weber State University and the author of Seamus Heaney and the Emblems of Hope (Columbia: University of Missouri Press, 2007). She earned a Ph.D. in Modern British and Anglo-Irish Literature at UCLA and wrote a poetry thesis for her creative writing M.A. at BYU. She has published literary criticism, essays, poetry, and reviews in a variety of journals and anthologies. A former AML board member, she also served as Dialogue’s first intern and later edited the journal’s special war and peace issue. Her writing awards include an Academy of American Poets Prize and the Carole Elzer Poetry Award. She lives in Salt Lake City and is now writing creative nonfiction, a memoir entitled Ferryman’s Daughter.
Karen’s insight and experience will be a very valuable asset to Irreantum, and we feel lucky to have her as a part of our team.
