Hi. I'm Jonathan Langford, and I'm an AML member. No, wait, that's for the support group on Thursday nights...

My main involvement has been with AML-List in its various incarnations. I was the second moderator for the list. I also did some editing for sections of Irreantum.

My background is primarily in connection with science fiction and fantasy. I was heavily involved in the sf&f community on the BYU campus during the 1980s, and still maintain ties there. I have interests in writing in those genres myself, but have not yet had anything published. (I do, however, have a master's thesis in the BYU library on coming-of-age in Tolkien's _The Lord of the Rings_.)

I also have an interest in Mormon literary criticism, but have not been able to do much with it, largely because of the direction my own life took. For a while, I intended to get a PhD in English literature, but eventually bailed out. Now I work out of my home as a writer in areas related to education and educational technology.

My family and I (wife Laurel, plus two children--the oldest is off at college) life in western Wisconsin. Laurel is a math professor. I'm originally from Oregon, but lived many years in Utah going to school; then southern California for more school, and now this area for the past 10 years or so. I'm 45 (soon to turn 46).
