The ninth annual Writing and Illustrating for Young Readers Workshop runs Monday, June 16 through Friday, June 20, 2008, at Brigham Young University in Provo, UT. The week-long program features 4-hour writing and illustration workshops each morning and afternoon conference sessions on illustration, writing, and publishing.

The workshop faculty include illustrator Will Terry, picture book authors Lisa Wheeler and Kathi Appelt, early chapter book writer Claudia Mills, novelists AE Cannon, Jeanette Ingold, Sally Warner, and fantasy author Brandon Sanderson. Ann Dee Ellis will teach the Beginning Writing class and Rick Walton will be our Thursday night banquet speaker.

Editor Martha Mihalick (HarperCollins) will make presentations during the week. We're still searching for our second editor, and hope to contract with one soon. Stephen Fraser of Jennifer DeChiara Literary Agency in New York will also be here for the entire workshop.
