It appears that once again decisions have been made about AML-List without consulting or even notifying those involved. I was relieved of the moderator's responsibilities today without notice or a word of warning. I don't even know if I am supposed to continue to be the moderator of the AML Discussion Boards, not that one is even needed since their is so relatively little traffic there now compared with the busiest times of AML-List. I'm sorry to say so, but I don't think anyone at AML has learned much from the experience of the last couple of months. Good luck, Stephen Carter; you are going to need lots of it.

I really do apologize to RW for what must be some sort of misunderstanding, but it is simply not true that RW wasn't consulted or notified. Several weeks ago, when the controversy over the AML list was raging, I wrote to RW and tried very carefully to explain what was going on and how it affected him. He never replied. Two weeks later, I tried again. Again, he did not reply. I wrote him three days ago and informed him of our board's decision, and asked, for the third time, if he would be willing to serve as moderator of the discussion board. Again, he did not reply.
Ordinarily, I would wonder if perhaps my emails weren't going through. But usually my server tells me if an email hasn't gone through, and I received no such notification. Clearly RW's feelings are hurt, and clearly the reason is that he hasn't been getting our emails. I'm not terribly technically savvy, and I probably should have done more to see to it that he was getting our emails. I'm really terribly sorry that RW is so angry with us. We respect the hard work he did as List moderator, and we would like to keep our relationship a positive one. And I would like to apologize to him for his hurt feelings. We certainly have tried to communicate with him.
