"Widow’s Revenge" by K. L. Fogg is the story of eighth grader Wesley Mackay who stands up to a school bully only to find himself expelled from school as the consequence of his action. His parents hire a tutor to help Wesley finish the school year. Harrison is a Navy SEAL and is able to teach Wesley all kinds of useful things such as magic tricks, knot tying and mind reading.
There are many other characters in the story including Wesley’s real father, Jack Mackay, who makes animal adventure shows for television. When his new little sister, Emily, is kidnapped, Wesley becomes the ransom. Wesley is taken to a delusional woman, Imogene, who wants to be Wesley’s mother even if it means hurting anyone who gets in her way.
There is intrigue. romance and suspense in this action packed story meant for young adults but there is enough to keep the attention of all audiences. This sequel to "The Serpent Tide" is very well done and I enjoyed it so well that I bought the first book and will read it too.
